Million sonnets can't dream -Belmannu Devadas Acharya

I wrote the following sonnet to my wife on 5th August 1980 while she was at IIT, Bombay and I was left with our little son at Mehta Research Institute, Allahabad.

Whilst thou hast provoken my subtle intent,
To commit to thee my effervescent thought,
I pen to commit these few emotional lines,
Thinking it shall glow thy dormant love mines!
Eternal has been my ebullient love for thee,
Thou hast enveloped my sorrows and glee,
What hast made thou so silent as though,
Quiescence hast engulfed all thy sheen?
Remotest ranges of my wisdom can't distill,
What hast really befallen thy crescent sky?
What occupies thy mind, tell me my soul,
That hast filled our distance all that foul?
I'll sooth thee with words that carry my life,
Not just'cause thou happenst to be my wife.
Thou art to me far more than life would mean,
What even such million sonnets can't dream !
