Editor's Desk

Letter from the Editor
20th June 2011

First, a BIG Thank You to all who have made the efforts to bring this concept to reality. Today we are ready to accept submissions in multiple languages. So authors can unhesitatingly go ahead and submit their work to us.

This has not only been about the concept of publishing in Indian languages, it has been as much about technology, about empowerment of Indians to have a single interface where they can showcase their skills in multiple languages, about the growth of Indian literature, about the recognition of Indian authors and their immense talent.

As we win one game, other challenges are in front of us. We recognize that we need to improve the reading, presentation and content delivery mechanisms on this site - and we are on the job. And yes, we need your support to take this to the next level.

Thank you all again.

Dear Readers,

We have made changes in our review process for the better. We will roll out an all-in-one form to make it easier for you to submit your works to us. At present though do not use the new forms - the old forms are still there and operational - use them.
Over the next month, be ready for the change. Its coming, its better, its simpler to read and write. We hope you too enjoy the journey of capturing your own imagination.

How many stars are there in the Universe?
How many drops of water are there in the Ocean?
How many citizens does India have?
How much talent do Indians have?

The answer to all the above questions is:
आकाश में हैं कितने तारे?
कितनी बूंदे सागर में?
कितने हैं जन भारत में?
और कितना क्षम है वासियों में?

Announcement: 3 more languages added

posted Jul 23, 2012, 9:50 AM by A Billion Stories

We are glad to announce the addition of 3 more languages to A Billion Stories. These are Tulu, Konkani and Havyaka Kannada. All these 3 are distinct though they use the same script as Kannada.

The history of these languages are very deeply embedded in Indian culture.

India is a highly diverse country and we will continue to add such languages, based on user feedback.

We hope you will enjoy reading the submissions on our site and also contribute your own to the literature of our great country.

Announcement: We are improving the site

posted Jun 27, 2012, 8:14 AM by A Billion Stories

In the past one year we had great success. Thank you for the support.

We are improving certain aspects of this site based on the feedback received from our users. And we are adding a lot more types of submissions.

You will see certain changes with the tag (DO NOT USE). Please avoid using those forms for submissions till the time we activate them and remove the tags. You can continue using the present interface without interruption in the meanwhile.

Some design and layout changes may occur, which will not be causing any interruption in our service to you.

Thank you for the patience.
